Scottish Submit 2013 Conference Review
Date published:
I had the pleasure of attending the Scottish Summit 2021 conference this year. It was my first in-person conference that was held on August 5th, 2023. This year, the team at Scottish Summit decided to do a tour and it was held in Manchester at the UA92 campus. At the conference, I was able to get my picture taken with the amazing trunk card and I was able to meet some of the speakers whom I had met at other events and attended their sessions.
Azure Landing Zone
The first session I attended was on Azure Landing Zone by Nathan Sweeney and it was a great session. I learned about Azure Landing Zone and how it can help with Azure deployments. I also learned about the different types of Azure Landing Zones and how they can be used in different scenarios. The session was very informative and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about Azure Landing Zones.
My First Session
I did my first session at the conference at 12:30-1pm and it was on Terraform VS Bicep again. I love doing this session as it is a great way to show people how to use Terraform and Bicep. The session was short and sweet and I had a great time doing it. I had the pleasure of co-speaking the session with my friend Jonathan D’Aloia.
Session on Terraform VS Bicep
After my session, I did a podcast interview for Scottish Summit Team and I had a great time doing it. I was able to talk about my session. I also talked about my experience at the conference and how it was my first in-person conference. I had a great time doing the podcast interview and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in doing a podcast interview.
FinOps
Following my session, I attended a fellow speaker’s session whom I had met at the Microsoft Speaker workshop earlier this year. The session was on FinOps called “Azure going out of business? Slashing cloud computing spend by over half using the power of FinOps”. It was an amazing session. I learned about FinOps and how it can help with your Cloud budget in your company.
The conference was well-organized, and the sessions were informative. I was able to attend a few sessions and learn about some new technologies. I also had the opportunity to meet some of the speakers whom I had met at other events. Overall, I had a great time at the conference and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about Microsoft technologies.
